EAST ROSWELL BRANCH
ATLANTA-FULTON PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM
A LEED Gold library set in a canopy of trees
The design for the new East Roswell Branch Library centers on a connection with its wooded surroundings creating a functional library space within a canopy of trees.
The use of warm natural materials such as stone and wood products combined with large expanses of glass filter the boundary between the exterior and interior spaces of the library while providing views to customers looking out from within the building.
A welcoming covered bridge entry leads customers into the space where they are immediately presented with views through the building and into the natural landscape beyond.
This new 15,200 SF branch library features 1,000 SF of flexible meeting space accessible after hours; 15 public computers; group and individual study rooms located adjacent to the adult collection area; a designated story / craft room located within the children’s area; an area dedicated to teens; and outdoor program space.
