The new 40,000 SF Afton Ridge Branch Library and Active Living Center fills a service need in the rapidly growing northwest region of Cabarrus County, NC for both library services and an enriching place for older residents. Located in a commercial retail development, this facility consolidates county and library services in one convenient location. 

The Library and Active Living Center share a spacious main lobby, restrooms, and a café with ample seating and space for socializing. South of the lobby, a series of three large multi-purpose rooms sit adjacent to the library’s community activity room. These rooms have direct access to a kitchen and feature dividable wall systems that can be opened or closed to suit a variety of programs and crowds. Outdoor spaces for the active living center are geared towards group recreation and wellness activities (shuffleboard, bocce, yoga, etc.), while a reading patio offers dedicated outdoor space for library programming.
