This facility provides multiple services in this predominantly agricultural part of St. John’s County. More than a traditional library, this community center and library features access to telehealth services, Health and Human Services staff, a food pantry, and a sub-dividable community room. The library space can be independently secured giving after-hours access to the community room and HHS offices.

The compact site has maximized the building at 10,000 SF and required a highly efficient floor plan to provide access to needed services, materials, and technology. The design was voted on by the community and reflects the proportions and art deco style of a former community center that used to be on this same site. The interior palette pulls green tones, warmer wood tones, and a comfortable aesthetic from the surrounding natural and agricultural environment. In the enclosed children’s area this palette is expanded with pops of color and the use of mobile furnishings for flexibility and gives staff the ability to hold programs in this space.
