PLAIN BRANCH
STARK LIBRARY
When GlenOak High School was built in 2006, it introduced an innovative partnership by combining a public library with an educational facility. This shared-use model continues today, with the Plain Branch serving as an active community library.
As user needs evolved, the space required thoughtful updates to better support its patrons. The library has been reconfigured to occupy only the first floor, with renovations focused on comfort, functionality, and flexibility. Enhancements include LED lighting, updated finishes, new ceiling tiles, and a full set of new furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
The collection was resized to reflect current usage patterns, and flexible display shelving was added to enhance the children’s area. New features include a business center, dedicated teen and tween spaces, and two study rooms, one of which is designed for families.
